Home Within is a service providing Movement Programming and Coaching, Individual Psychological Therapy and online, activity based workshops. We aim to make health care as accessible and flexible as possible. We believe that the knowledge needed to understand ourselves and move well should be available to everyone and we aim to work with individuals on identifying and developing their healthiest and happiest self.

Founder and Director of Home Within

Emma created Home Within (Originally Mind Over Body), in 2018 with the goal of addressing mental and physical health collectively and holistically. Emma’s goal is work with people as their whole being, utilising evidence-based therapies and practice to develop understanding of ourselves and our needs and increase self-compassion. Emma is passionate about working with people to develop the compassionate and knowledgable base that will support confidence and empowerment in our every day decisions and engagement in life.

Emma is a qualified and registered General Psychologist (AHPRA: PSY0002422770) and Exercise Scientist and has over 10 years of experience in these areas. Emma is trained in Schema therapy, Compassion Focussed Therapy, CBT-E (CBT for Eating Disorders), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, DBT, CBT, MANTRA and SSCM. She has experience in working in NGO’s, Queensland Health and the NHS in inpatient Eating Disorder programs.

In her movement programming, she is focused on working with a range of individuals and their goals:

  • Individuals engaging in movement for the first time or after a prolonged break

  • Individuals working towards specific goals e.g., performance goals, body composition

  • Individuals managing day to day busy schedules and wanting to find a flexible and goal focused program that works for their lifestyle

  • Development of strength (general or sport specific)

  • Swimming and cardiovascular development

  • Returning to exercise after an eating disorder

  • Individuals just wanting to enjoy moving their body

For psychological therapy, she has experience working with individuals with a range of mental health concerns.
